Intense, Compact, Hilarious, Profound: Both the Sacred and the Profane

We have dispersed to our various homes after a weekend that might take hours to describe to someone who was not there. Many of us struggled to describe and define what it is that draws us together every five years. Perhaps there is no one answer; perhaps that's not important. But we do it and we look forward to it.

For me the rainbow in the new banner and the arrival of my first grandchild late on July 3rd hints at an answer. It has something to do with renewal, our lives and the future and what we pass on to those we love and care for in so many ways, be it in China, Alaska, Albuquerque, Ossining, either coast or in between... we each have a sense of Mission.

In both the raucous stories and the cemetery visit we reconnected in ways that help bring meaning and understanding to who we are and what we do 40 years later.

One of the best stories of the weekend was about an early 1900's masquerade. Two people who gave us a place to meet did not hesitate to set their own course and do it in a manner that certainly typifies the "unique" spirit of the GE Class of 1969.

Please share your thoughts in the comments below. This is our virtual reunion scrapbook. Let's make it memorable.

The Sainted Ones

Some Things Never Change

"I know, I know, son, but he was SO sincere!"

"Swear to God, John, it was that damn Sullivan."

"So I told Roger and Eddie that John really wanted..."

"Six Years! I was duped!"

  1. Only taught at Maryknoll for 3 years which are some of the most treasured years of my life. I was sad to see the college close. Taught Sociology along with a class in statistics very few enjoyed. Some may remember me. I met my wife and married her while teaching at Maryknoll.
